Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme 2024

Applications are now open for Mayo County Council's 2024 Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme. Four full scholarships are available, with the scheme open to 2nd to 6th year students for attendance at Mayo Gaeltacht colleges as follows:

Terms and Conditions

• Students resident in Mayo or attending school in Mayo may apply. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof they meet this condition.
• Courses are only open to the specific year groups mentioned. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their school year.
• Students with very basic to advanced levels of Irish are welcome to apply. 
• The scholarship recipients will be chosen from the eligible applications by means of draw. Mayo County Council will make contact with the successful applicants in mid February. A notice will be placed on our website confirming the draw has taken place.
• Scholarships are non-transferable.
• Only one application per student will be accepted. Multiple entries will disqualify.
• If applying on behalf of more than one student (eg siblings) please complete separate forms.
• Previous scholarship recipients are ineligible to apply.
• Mayo County Council employees are ineligible to apply.
• Successful applicants will be required to attend a scholarship presentation, which will include photography.

Parents or guardians can fill out the online application form available at the following link. Please make sure to carefully read the instructions and terms at the start of the form before beginning your application. One question on the form is to be answered by the student.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 18 February 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
